Quicken Community: Medicare EOB heads-up

I've gotten at least 5 (so far) Medicare EOB's that have been re-opened. Dating back to DOS of 1-6-06.

I just got an explanation today as to why: Medicare is recalculating the amount allowed (which effects the supplemental payments and the patient responsibility).

I got a bill from a provider for $0.71 (yes, seventy one cents) and called them to see if they reeeely wanted to process a 71 cent check. The nice lady gave me the explanation and said "Ignore it, we've written it off. We just didn't catch that one."

I would keep up todate with these adjustments in MEM and if the provider sends a bill, call them before paying.

John

--
When you're up to your butt in alligators, it's hard to remember you're there to drain the swamp.
