Matthew Martinez spent a decade working in the high-tech industry before discovering real estate as a profession. After receiving his B.S.B.A. and a master's in international studies, he worked at the U.S. Embassy in London and was a member of the White House Advance Team during the Clinton administration's second term. He also lived and worked in Italy, Mexico, Australia, Singapore and several countries throughout South America. In 1999, he moved to New England to work for one of the early Internet search engine firms and purchased his first home in Boston. Shortly thereafter, he began acquiring rental properties.

From 2002-2004, he purchased several million dollars worth of income-producing properties and founded the Landlord and Investor Group, an organization with more than 1,000 members that helps investors excel in the real estate industry by educating and sharing best practices and time proven strategies. By 2004, Martinez was able to leave his corporate job and dedicate all of his time to real estate endeavors.

He is now the principal of Pangea Select, a real estate investment company that acquires multi-family properties in emerging, high-growth areas throughout the United States.
