I have just taken over a school pto treasurer job. The person before me used Quicken Basic 2007 for Windows. I could use Windows, but prefer to use Mac OS X. If I buy Quicken 2007 Basic for Mac, will the Quicken database be compatible?
Quicken 2007 Windows files on Mac? Aug 27, 2007 08:53 am
This post is about: Quicken Basic 2007
Tony,
I did find a support article that states that you CAN convert a Quicken for Windows data file to Quicken for Macintosh. Can you tell me why you don't think this will work?

I didn't say that the data wasn't convertible, just that the databases weren't compatible. Since the databases are not compatible, there may be "conversion artifacts" that unfavorably alter the data. This process would then have to be reversed if the next person intends to use the file in a Windows version of Quicken.
This topic has been discussed on these forums. I strongly suggest you search for those discussions as they involve people who have actual performed [or attempted to perform] the conversion you are currently contemplating.
