I have been using QEMM for the last six month. As of 1/1/06, I will have all new insurance plan, new companies. Should I start a new QEMM file or continue with this years? Does any one know when the new version is due out?

One of the proported benefits <and one of the reasons I use QMEM> is that it keeps a brief record of your <and your family's> medical history. Therefore, I would definately recommend that you keep going on your existing file. Of course, if that aspect isn't important to you, you are free to do what you want.

Since so little of the insurance plan information is tracked by version 1, the fact that you have new plans shouldn't affect your decision much.

As for when version 2 will be out, keep an eye on the "What's up with QMEM?" forum. The best answer we have is in that forum. When Intuit is ready to release a date, I'm sure that they will release it there first. The short answer is "well after Jan 1".

Hi all,

Tony is right (as usual! :-))

Best to keep all your data in one file, even across years adn different insurance companies. In Version 1, you can simply set up a new insurance company for your new claims. Version 2 will track against insurance deductibles, and with that you'll have the ability to designate the "plan year".

I'm sorry I can't pre-announce the date for Version 2's release, but please hang in there. It isn't too far away!

Sounds like good advice, Lisa.

I have the same situation with some insurance changes coming in January and February. Keeping one file, adding the new insurance information, and using the Reports feature to break out information for any required time period seems like a logical way to go.
