Quicken Medical Expense Manager V2 2008
I'm having difficulty getting the correct numbers for out of network providers. The example is a lab test, provided by an out of network lab. I pay the entire cost up front ($295). Insurance allows $160.00, my copay is $56, and insurance sends me a check for $104.00. So my actual responsiblity, and my actual out of pocket expense is $191.00. QMEM keeps telling me that the provider now owes me $135.00, which is incorrect. I've read the help section on how to enter out of network expenses, and I cannot get this to work.

Joel,
Thanks! I did not notice that the provider was clicked as 'in network' in the Expense Details window. I had unchecked the 'in network' box in the Insurance Payments window.
BTW, how did the 'in network' information get into the Expenses Details window? I looked at the provider information, and there is no place to enter the in or out of network status.

Yes, it seems that 'in network' is the default setting. I've been going through all of my entries, and 'in network' is uniformly checked for all of them.
It seems to me that a provider is always either 'in network' or not. Couldn't QMEM allow us to set this in the Provider Contact section?
