Quicken Medical Expense Manager V2
Hi folks,

We just started putting up tips on the Quicken Medical website (http://www.quickenmedical.com/tips_tools.shtml). The first tips look at using MEM for the medical tax deduction and for FSAs.

We're also considering tips on using MEM to
  • track medical-expense disputes
  • spot overpayments
  • remind yourself of appointments and prescriptions and expense/dispute follow-ups
  • track deductibles.
What other tips would you like to see?

Regards,

Bruce

I have a really simple one ... might not even qualify for your neat automated tip demos. This is really a tip for entering expenses and payments.

There have been some posts requesting a pop up (or similar) calculator. A couple of folks have indicated a need to calculate the Provider Write-Off Amount when the EOB only reports the Amount Billed and the Amount Allowed.

A calculator really isn't necessary in this case. Just enter the Amount Billed, skip the Provider Write-Off field, and enter the Amount Allowed. The Write-Off is automatically calculated.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I just figured this out ... so maybe someone else has missed this excellent "feature."

;-)

Quicken Bruce, I really do like the Tips section very much! However, I would suggest turning off that annoying key-tapping/mouse-clicking noise. It took me several minutes to track down where that was coming from and discover that it was from my headphones. Then I had to figure out which window was creating the noise. I thought that I had picked up some sort of backdoor-virus for a minute. ;)
