Quicken Medical Expense Manager V2
Hi folks,

Thank you for all of your comments in the three weeks since Medical Expense Manager Version 2 came out!

MEM V2 itself is in part a product of these forums. Overpayments, deductibles/OOP Max tracking, multiple payments for an expense, multiple services for an expense, as many as five insurers for a single service (up from two), method of payment, calculating insurance write-off automatically, better help and a .pdf guide, even a link in-program to a calculator -- all of these additions to V2 addressed a thread in the V1 forums.

(A few new-to-V2 items didn't come up first in the forums, e.g. reminders. We think of some things by ourselves... :-))

And for V2, we continue to hear your concerns and we're investigating them (e.g. last week's patch).

Now, here's a slightly different question:

  • What's working well for you in MEM V2?
What do you use most often? What do you find the most useful?

In other words, as MEM goes forward, what do you really like and want to make sure we keep and build upon?

Regards,

Bruce

    What works for me?

The ability to filter, in the Expense Log, by event status.

I've got the status filter set to "All Open" and the dates set to "Earliest" and "Latest". This almost makes up for the excruciating pace of the scrolling, which appears to be the result of a very flawed selection of database engines.

The ability to select a full range of dates in the tax report is quite useful also.

THINK IT THRU! Have you explained your issue so that someone who knows nothing about you, or YOUR Quicken setup, can understand what your issue is? Are you using standard Quicken terminology, particularly with respect to FILES, ACCOUNTS and CATEGORIES?

I do really like the Calendar feature. I can get a quick glance at where appointments/purchases have been made. However, I do want a faster way to get around within the calendar.

There are a lot of things that I like about QMEM, but I only had time for a quick note. I will revisit with more "likes" later.
