Find Report with total of results at the bottom

I would like to be able to get the totals from the results of the Find report. For example, I would like to be able to search for a particlar item within a date range and find out what that drug/service cost. I can calculate that myself, but it would be nice if QMEM would simply total the results at the bottom of the screen automatically.

Also, I would like the Find report to report only the drug/service that I requested the report for. In QMEM v2.1.1.2, Find will display ALL of the items on any given receipt/entry even if some of the items were not what I searched for. As long as one entry from my search criteria exists on the receipt QMEM will display all of items from that entry in the Find results. For example, I have a receipt/entry that has a prescription drug and an OTC on it. I do a Find for the Rx item only, and the Find report pulls up not only the Rx but also the OTC that is on the same receipt/entry. Isolating the Find results to only the items that are requested will allow for a more accurate report and an accurate total at the bottom (provided that QMEM implement my request from above).

How does the group feel about these requests? Do you feel that totals of the Find results would be helpful? Do you only want to see the Find results that you requested?

Hi LanMan,

Would the Cost Calculator meet this need?

"Calculate costs for... Services" lets you select a service (including a drug) and set the time period you want. You can see Amount Billed by the provider, the provider write-off, how much your insurance paid, and what your responsibility was. Will that do?

Regards,

Bruce

Yes, I can get this via the Cost Calc. However, I still feel that this is a valid UI enhancement for the Find results.

It would also be nice to have a Find field in which one could enter a word/phrase for the search criteria.

I know that this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I just thought that I would also mention that I would like for a Find/Search option that will search Notes fields. QMEM users put a lot of data into these fields and it would be very convenient to be able to search for Notes entries. For example, I put check numbers in the Reference field of My Payments within Expense Log entries. I would like to be able to do a system wide search for a particular check number. However, there are many things that would be of use to find via a global search feature.

Good call, LanMan. The global Search feature is one we'd like to add, since the Billing Notes and Medical Notes fields can contain a lot of useful information.
