I would like to be able to pull up a vaccination history very quickly. One possible way would be to create an additional drug type (Rx vs. OTC vs. vaccine) and allow the Patient History report to be limited to just vaccines. Of course, I couldn't care less "how" it is done.
I'm currently handling this by entering each vaccine as a service prefixed with "vaccine: " and then selecting all of the vaccine services in either the Cost Calculator or the FSA report, but I'd really like to have such a report without the dollar values on it.
One other thing that we track for vaccinations are the Lot# (numbers). I want to be able to respond in case there is a recall as there was with flu shots a couple of years ago.
Barrie, I'm in the boat with you regarding your desires as to the course of MEM. I do not really NEED for it to touch Quicken at all. I'm really only using Pocket Quicken right now anyway (I would love a Pocket QMEM, come on Landware!). What I really need is a one stop shop for my medical records and expenses! That would make my life soooooo much easier. I truely believe that MEM will evenually be geared to make the lives of those with chronic illness easier by keep EOB's, LON's, history, etc - but not if we don't tell the team. ;)
This post is about: Quicken Medical Expense Manager V2 2006
Agreed about tracking vaccinations. We don't have any kids but today I was trying to compile a vaccination history for myself and my wife's vaccinations (before now it was pretty much a "dart against the wall" for us too, to quote Barrie from above).
Perhaps if services could be grouped or tagged, whether it's custom or there were specified choices like "vaccine"/"preventive", "diagnostic"/"lab", "drug" (which is already there), "transportation", etc. Or, if there could be sub-services (like Quicken's subcategories), that might work too. Another possibility could be custom fields that can be added to each expense or service.
As far as reporting, this might be a tangent, but if there were some more options for custom reporting (again, one can look to Quicken for some examples), that could be helpful.
