I am receiving the following error message when trying to load my MEM file:
"The data file you requested cannot be opened:"
It then lists the proper location on the hard drive where the file is stored.
One odd thing is that there is a double \ (\\) after the last subdirectory prior to the filename. When I move the file to the root directory, there is only one \.
Moving the file did not help. Uninstalling/Reinstalling/Repair did not help.
The only thing that changed since the last time I used this file is a regular Windows Update.
How are you trying to open the file? Double clicking directly on the *.mem file, opening QMEM and using "File|Open", opening QMEM and using "File|Open Recent", or some other way?

This is highly irregular. Can you post a screen shot? because I'm not really clear on where you are seeing this extra backslash. I'm wondering if that character somehow got into the file name and is confusing Windows, QMEM, or both.

This makes my file name guess above seem unlikely. I wouldn't think it's even related, but good to know anyway.
When you see the error "the data file that you requested cannot be opened" it means that you are experiencing some data damage and you need to write into the MEM support queue so that your file can be sent in for repair. I have a great tool that will allow me to fix about 95% of the files that become damaged and I can get it done quickly and get your file back to you quickly, as well. We still are unsure of what is causing the damage, but so far we have not found the damage to be an unrecoverable error.--Quicken Meg
