Out of nowhere Quicken MEM will not open my most current .mem file and provides the above error message. The program opens older .mem files but not my most current onw (with tens of entries made in it!). I'm running 2.1.1.2 w/ XP Pro SP2, there's been no major issue w/ my computer since I last used the program. I need to recover this data, any help would be appreciated.

Did you make a backup?

I expect that you've already read -- and understand -- Accounting 101. Please prove me right.
THINK IT THRU! Have you explained your issue so that someone who knows nothing about you, or YOUR Quicken setup, can understand what your issue is? Are you using standard Quicken terminology, particularly with respect to FILES, ACCOUNTS and CATEGORIES?

Sorry.
Note that your problem, while it manifests in QMEM, is not necessarily OF QMEM ... it could just as well be a cross-linked file situation caused by Windows or by another application.

If you see the error message, "the data file you requested cannot be opened" this indicates data damage. You will need to submit a request for support to our support site and we can set up a secure link for you to upload your data file to our data services website for repair. We have a tool that will repair about 85% of the files that are damaged. The remainder have to be reviewed by an engineer and have the code reviewed.
