I cannot backup my Quicken files onto a new CD-R disk. I get an error message that says "cannot find source". I have backed up files before and my previously backed up files that are on a CD-R disk are saved as a .pdf (Adobe) file and will not open with Quicken. It appears that the computer is trying to back up files from the hard drive (C:\)rather than from the Quicken program in the Program File directory.

What am I doing wrong? I choose File - Backup and follow the directions but apparently something is not happening the way I think it should.

I see several people are looking at my question. Is this a common problem (backing up) that alot people are having trouble with and cannot offer me some suggestions?

I have what what I think is a current backup disk. To test it out, should I make a minor temporary change in my data, then restore the backup disc to check if the data goes back before my minor change? I am assuming this backup disk is okay because there was no error message after backing up; and the files have names like: QData105bkp.idx

It appears that your question has evoked a groundswell of apathy!!
Seriously, I suggest that you use a CD-RW. The few times I have backed up QME to CDs or DVDs I've had to use RW disks.
