When I click on the 'delete' icon at the top of the left hand nav on the 'home' page, it takes me to the 'My Accounts' page but doesn't list any accounts or give me any controls to delete an account.

It's possible you are seeing a bug that is still happening intermittently where the My Accounts page doesn't list any accounts.
You can try refreshing your accounts manually to see if that fixes the problem. When the My Accounts page is working right again, you should be able to select the row for the account you want to delete and click Delete.
If you don't know how to manually refresh an account, here's how:
1. Click the account name from the left side of the Home page.
2. Click Refresh This Account from the page that opens.
