I just signed up for Quicken Online, and I am trying to use it to organize my Citibank account. However, the transaction column is not pulling the complete payee data details from my bank. For example, I have a lot of transactions that only display "Debit Purchase". Quicken Online is no use for me in this way. I asked the support service but got no answer yet. Did anybody get a solution for this?

Here is what I was told by Quicken:

We are having this problem because our banks store the complete Payee name in two different columns. One is the Payee field, the other is the Memo field. The information we want (the name of the payee) is in the 2nd column, the Memo Field. The first field just labels the type of transaction (ATM, Debit Card, etc...) Quicken only downloads the information from the first field.

I don't know how hard it would be for them to get info from the other column, but was told that for this software, the feature was "not available." I ditched Quicken a couple of months ago and am relatively satisfied with iBank. It's not an online system, but it works better on a Mac than Quicken.

I just posted a separate entry on this exact subject since I have a Citibank account and also don't get any payee details when using my ATM card.

It's very difficult to keep track of spending since there is no specific information to remind you of what exactly you paid for!

So, are there other banks whose merchant information is much better when using the ATM card option?

I would be willing to switch to one of those banks.

The response I got from Citibank to solve this problem with the software I needed to enroll and pay for the quicken download service.
