This post is about:
Quicken Online
I just want to make sure I am looking at this issue correctly. Let's say I have an auto draft or a credit transaction that does not post to an account in Quicken on the day that it should post on. It seems that there is no way to change a "cleared" transaction like in the desktop versions of Quicken. First, is this a bad practice? Modifying the "cleared" data of posted transactions. Secondly, how can I see the trends correctly of a time period in question?
Here is an example:
I assumed that a paycheck was supposed to post on the 31st last month but it posted early. So in trends, it looks as though I was paid more for October because my wife's check was early. The reporting seems to also mis-report for Nov as well. My month (for budgeting) begins on the last day of the previous month until the second to the last day of the current month (eg. Oct 31 - Nov 29).
It would be great if the "cleared" transaction date could be modified to better reflect trends but I am unsure if this is a poor practice. If I can't make this modification then reporting in Quicken on-line seems to be off.
