I have started creating sub-categories by adding a ":" and then the sub-category. For example I have created a category called TRANSPORTATION- Then my subcategory is "Transportation:Gasoline"

agreed on the last post, but in the trends section I just have a million categories now. It would be a nice feature to allow for me to see how many 'medical' expenses I have then once I click on it see the individual Medical categories instead of seeing them as all top level categories.

Me too. I'd like to have a main budget cateory which can then be clicked to show sub-categories, like any normal budget. The only way I've been able to do this so far is to create the main catory, such as Auto, then in the description line change the actual vendor name, such as Union 76 or Shell, to Gas. Then, when you click Auto, all the gas purchases are shown as a single item. Do the same for auto repairs, insurance, etc.
There doesn't seem to be any other solution for now.
