I bought a BB Bold 3 weeks ago, and honestly, if I had known about the Iphone quicken app, it might have influenced my decision and I'd gotten the Iphone.
Realistically - what's the chance that quicken will soon have the same offering for BB that it does for Iphone?
And is the Iphone functionality worth it? It looks like all you get is visibility into your transactions, period, no editing, no manipulation of data...
It HAS to be able to handle splits, that is a standard feature in any financial program.
It needs to handle savings goals (or just one like a buffer for the checking account)
The total amount of cash needs to show up on the Activity screen under Accounts.
You should be able to edit the uncleared transactions because utility bills and other transactions are not always the same amount every month.
I need to be able to enter a transaction in with a future date. (I get my bills via email and then enter in the transaction ahead of time)
The balance forecast is ok but I don't feel it is as good at categorizing as the desktop software.. Tim Horton's came up as a clothing store, Mc Donald's came up as Health .. I don't know if someone was trying to be funny.
Subcategories would be nice.
A mini networth report (one screen) would be nice as well.
Hate to be use cliches but it should do what the desktop software does as far as entering in and editing transactions.
And the ultimate which most people are asking for is a way of syncing with the desktop.. I understand you can't via Itunes but if there is a way of syncing via wifi or bluetooth it would be nice.
Any hope for a Quicken Online app on the Blackberry Bold? Jun 02, 2009 06:36 pm

Makes no sense to me since Blackberry outsells iPhone. See this link: http://tinyurl.com/ovd8r9 If it were up to me, I'd make it for the Curve first, then look at the Bold.
Bottom line there are more BB's out there than iPhones and most BB users are more "business" oriented which probably translates to more Quicken users! Seems like smart money would be investing in a Blackberry app for Quicken. It would be even more useful if the online Quicken and the desktop Quicken and the mobile Quicken were all synced together. In fact, if you don't come up with it I might go to Rent-A-Coder and hire a geek to write an application that WILL do this. I think this could be a money making product.
I used Pocket Quicken for many years on my Palm products. Given the Business orientation of Blackberry, I am having a hard time understanding why this app hasn't been ported to the Blackberry family. I don't want an on-line version. I don't want my financial information stored on-line. I want an app I've been using, and can continue to use. I want it to sync with my PC like it always has. Is this too much to ask?
Yes, it is too much to ask for. We've been asking for well over a year now, and nothing.
They only cater to i-phone. They're under the impression that there are more i-phones than Blackberry's. Look again folks.

Add to your comments...
I don't even want to have to sync with my computer. If I had my way, I would just use the app on my Blackberry. Add transactions there and have them sync on the device.
If they do want to sync with my computer, or have it be an option, figure out a way to do it easily without a lot of nonsense.
Please.
And you're right, everyone talks iPhone but there are MILLIONS more BlackBerries out there. Stupid not to look at them first.

For real, Intuit, I would actually purchase the Desktop version at $39.99 or whatever it is, IF I could sync with my Blackberry, and I would only use it on my Blackberry from that point on probably, as my life is mobile. Don't make us look for other alternatives please. We love Quicken, obviously!
