My VISA credit purchase are not showing enough characters for me to identify where I made a purchase. Can I increase the number of characters that are downloaded from my bank?

You can't change what gets downloaded.

But the Quicken Online payee name field is plenty wide enough to hold sufficient info to identify the payee ... if your financial institution supplies it.  I have gotten payee name data containing at least 74 characters in Quicken Online.  [And for that same transaction, I got only 32 characters of payee name info in my desktop version of Quicken.]

So the capability is there in Quicken Online, but your fi has to make the data available.
