Occasionally, I write a check. I like to put this in as a 1-time transaction, so that it is calculated in my "Real Balance."

Unfortunately,

1. You cannot add a NOTE to it until it clears, by which time you have forgotten what it was for

2. When it does clear, it loses the payee info and shows up simply as "CHECK".

I think fixing these would be in-line with Quicken Online's stated mission: to help you track your spending and know how much is available.

I agree as well. Another solution would be to give us a way to enter CHECKS or other transactions into the transactions list like you would enter it into a check register. If I go to the store and by something it doesn't necessarily show up immediately. I would like to put it in the transactions register my self and then have it match to an incoming transaction when it clears.
