I'd like to be able to add notes to upcoming transactions and not just the completed transactions.

Abosolutely. It makes no sense that we can't enter notes while the info is fresh in our minds. Makes no sense that we have to wait for the bank to enter a cryptic description, and then to have to remember the description that the website did not allow us to enter earlier!

If you agree with this, please add a comment to this discussion thread so that Quicken will listen to us! (Like a petition.)

This is definitely something I have been wanting to send feedback about. Totally need to be able to make notes on upcoming transactions. That's what notes are for - to remind yourself later what you spent the money on before you forget.

I agree. It would be nice to be able to add verification numbers or reference numbers for upcoming purchases in a notes category. The only time I would do this is right after I've made the payment but before it's cleared. By the time the paymet is posted, I've already forgotten information or thrown it away.

Hello-

Count me in. I was glad to see this "Petition".

Today is my 2nd day using Quicken online and that was the 1st option I looked for-and was surprised not to see it. I came across your post searching for that info.

Completely agree, this is my #1 request for an added feature.

I prefer to enter my receipts & transactions into my financial software (whether MS Money or Quicken Online) ASAP and then dispose of the receipts. I don't like being forced to hold-on to those receipts for several more days until the transaction clears the bank...

Please include the ability to add notes to upcoming transactions in future updates to Quicken Online!

Amazing, you must have been reading my mind when you wrote this. I actually refreshed my window thinking that there must be a glitch not to be able to enter the note when I'm entering the upcoming transaction. This is a no-brainer!

It's good to see I'm not the only one who has noticed this glaring omission. Now if Quicken would just hurry up and take care of it, maybe I'd start using Quicken Online again.

Definitely agree that notes are needed, along with many other things. I decided to try Quicken Online since I just purchased a new PC and the MS Money that I have on my old PC will eventually be unsupported. Lack of basic features in Quicken Online made me decide to buy a new monitor for my old pc just so I can use MS Money as long as I can.

I use notes heavily to document key things about 30% of my transactions. I often want to document an upcoming transaction (today I have keep a separate list of notes or hack the payee or check # field).

I always put a character (a period) in every otherwise blank note to remind me I have reviewed the transaction since it was downloaded. It would be most user-friendly to provide a simple checkbox column which is initially unchecked.

The note field, and all other editable fields, should be visible, navigable to, AND editable in the column using only the keyboard.

Please add my vote for these usability features.
