This post is about: Quicken Online
I would love to migrate from my quicken desktop (premier 2008) to quicken online. However, I need the full set of features (cash flow, assets, investments, attaching files, generating reports) available. At present, quicken online does not have the rich set of features that I want. I would be willing to pay $100/yr for having the full functionality of my quicken premier online (including atleast 1GB of storage per year's worth of transactions for attachments).

I am creating this discussion title because I could not find a related topic directly addressing this issue. I am hoping many others will voice a similar opinion to quide the development of quicken online.

I was just on a Chat with a quicken Supervisor, I do not get the point of quicken online...
My bank gives me all this info the same way, I just have more options there! I am able to categorize!
I got so excited seeing "Quicken Online" at first, thinking that it will allow me to access all my data from the web. but unfortunately this is not the case.
I think that Quicken should quick"ly realize that we are living in a wireless phone and we want to be able to get to "our" data (not just the banks) from a Blackberry or IPhone. am using Quicken to budget not just to see what cleared.

I have been using Quicken desk top for the last 13 years and recently tossed the towel in because it was simply an exercise in futility. I strted with Mint 2 weeks ago and find that I am learning more about my spending habits in 2 weeks than I have in 13 years. When Quicken came out with an iphone app last week I figured I would give it a try. So far I am happier with Mint.

I definitely am interested in a migration and/or a synchronized feature so that what is on the web can also be on my desktop. I have also used quicken for years (6+ years) and at one point used the "web entry" solution. I had problems at some point so stopped using. Now that I've upgraded to the 2009 version I wanted to enable that feature (so that I can upload when not at home) but Online seems to be the only feature similar. From what I understand it is either one or the other (desktop vs Online) and I'd rather not maintain two tools. I would pay a little more for an "integrated" solution.

I use Quicken Premier 2009 and have been since using the desktop software since 1997. I want to use an online version, but want to bring all of that history with me. I would gladly pay $20 or more a month for that service.

I am interested in migrating from desktop to online, but I think it is going to be a while for the online version to function properly. It's like they are programming for fourth graders.

I'd be willing to pay 30-50 dollars per year for a fully functioning online Quicken.

I bought a new Mac, and was using Quicken 2006 on my old Mac. It was very efficient and made my life easy. I need to be able to generate an accurate cash flow report so I can see where all of my money is going. I use 14 categories that contain over 10-20 subcategories (over 200 in total). I can't find my old install disc, and I'm not going to buy 2007 version if 2010 version is coming in a few months.

I used pocket quicken for three years, on my Palm Treo, very effectively syncing up my cash transactions. I upgraded to the Palm Pre but Using Quicken online through the Web App is cantankerous and time consuming. There is no Pocket Quicken for the Pre a Quicken Palm Web OS.

I am trying Quicken online, but it seems dumbed down to the point of being impractical (no subcategories, goofy reporting). The good part is the ease for setting up my online account transactions--even student loan information from the governmental agency.

I am concurrently sampling Mint.com, and it's similar to Quicken online but more overtly pushing financial services with the intention of saving you money.

The Beta version of Mac Quicken is called Financial Life, but that functions similarly to the online version. I don't believe in Form-over-Function, but apparently that's what seems to be happening with the development of Quicken online, and the Beta Version of Financial Life.

I too would like to see an online version of the Desktop software. I'm currently using Quicken 2009.

The current online version wants to "push" the bank transactions to me. I want to do just the opposite. I want to enter them myself and put them in my own customized categories with the ability to split across categories.

I would like to see the Desktop software exactly replicated to an online version.

The other thing I would like to see is to be able to download to the current Desktop version using the current file format. It would be nice to manage everything online, then download to the Desktop so I always have that as a backup.

I too would be willing to pay a monthly fee for that. I just don't want them pushing the bank transactions to me. I want to do it myself.

I'm not interested. Quicken 2009 H&B works just fine and my banks have all the on line services I need. I would not be interested in paying a monthly fee. There is also security issues.

I think that the security issues are not an issue at all. There is no reason that an online application could not be secure. More ideally, I would like to see an online version that simply would sync major data sets into the cloud environment to allow them to be manipulated from the cloud. I still would want the full features of my home application (although it would be nice for the database to remain on my home server (WHS) and be accessed from any PC in the house.
