Why ask for Billing information on free product?

I logged in today and was asked to update my billing information. Why? This is supposed to be a free product.

Is intuit planning to pull a fast one?

Hmmm. I can't remember where we might ask for billing info.

Can you describe more about where you saw this?

If it's still available can you take a screen shot?
