I can't seem to get a definitive on this w/ Quicken 2007. Our company 401k is set up through Merrill Lynch. I see a "Merrill Lynch Investments" in the Q07 Financial Institutions list but attempting to log in results in an error message stating incorrect ID/PW. I double checked the credentials and it is correct.
That stated, I went to the ML Benefits Online site which contains a link to d/l your 401k data into Quicken as a Web Connect file. Upon attempting to import the data file, I get an error in Q07 stating Quicken is "unable to verify the financial institution information for this download."
Is this a known problem or just another unsupported institution w/in Quicken for Mac?

I've had problems sometimes trying to enter the password. This was corrected by retarting Quicken.
I don't know is Merrill Lynch needs to be setup to allow Quicken downloads for your account. Start with them first. Remember, your account number and customer ID are not the same.

Merrill Lynch's support was able to shed a lot more light on this issue. I'll show what their response was:
Thank you for your recent Benefits OnLine inquiry.
You may be experiencing a site error. Please try troubleshooting your error with the following suggestions:
1) Please use Internet Explorer (preferred) or Netscape to view our website. Do not use Safari or Mozilla Firefox.
2) Open the website in a separate window/browser outside of your work station or try using a different computer
3) Make sure you are typing in our website each time(<http://www.benefits.ml.com>) and picking up a new server number each time (ex-www23.benefits.ml.com). We do NOT recommend saving our web address to your favorites when a server number is attached
4) At this time participants who are accessing Benefits Online with a Macintosh computer are experiencing systems compatibility issues. This has been brought to the attention of our technology department, and they are working to get this corrected. If you go to Apple's website and download Netscape version 7.2, this should help.
We appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
I hope to alleviate the problem using their suggestions, even if it is a bit convoluted. Details to follow.

I also have my 401k at ml and have the same problem. No problem accessing the site and downloading a valid qfx file, but I get the same "unable to verify the financial institution" info from Quicken when I run the qfx file.
Either quicken doesn't recognize the financial id, or ml has programmed the wrong info into their qfx download.
