I’m happy to report that the migration to the new portfolio system is complete. This new system applies to Quicken Windows 2006, 2007 and 2008.
If you want more information about this transition, or if you are experiencing any issues with the new portfolio, please post them in the thread here. This will keep all of the issues in one place, which means we can gather and fix them a lot sooner--
Thanks--
Quicken Kathryn

Dale:
The problem with corrupted price history is definitely NOT fixed. I just did a quotes download, and found 12 out of 42 securities still experienced corrupt historical data; today's prices were correct, but the previous five days were filled in with data from some other security. No quotes were appeared for mutual funds, either.
Please don't allow your software dabblers to tell you the problem is fixed, when they obviously haven't tested it enough to find that it's still broken.
I've been a faithful customer of Quicken almost since day one, but now I'm about ready to move to something else that has no ads, better features, and above all, customer service.
Intuit would be well advised to spend less effort putting in bells and whistles that few customers want, and advertising that is intrusive and offensive in a program that's paid for. Instead, they should concentrate on making the features they have work smoothly, reliably, and consistently.
I crash every time I try to download quotes. Has happened since I purchased (under duress) 2008 version in May 08. Just upgraded today to R7, so worked at time of upgrade but later today (still awaiting callback) still get a "Sorry, encountered a problem, Quicken needs to close" error message, as I have since May. This is just incredibly frustrating to not be able to manage my investments. Any ideas, please?
Quicken support has not been helpful to date.
Awaiting callback now.

Dale, I have attached a screen capture of todays watch list (3 Sep 08) with stocks circled. They don't even resemble the actual results for the day, in fact BAC was up for the day but the download shows it down.Take a look at what it did to the Dow Jones. Since I upgraded to 2009 my portfolio is a shambles WHAT happened during the beta????? Do I just uninstall and call it a wasted 80+ dollars for the upgrade. I just cannot trust it!

Hi Dale, thanks for the update. Unfortunately for me nothing has changed trying to download quotes or Historical prices. In the One Step Update summary, for quotes it says the server is not responding, try again later. For Historical prices it says none of the securities were recognized. I am a 10 year+ Quicken user, running on XP Home on a 2003 Dell.
It's really too bad that a process that used to be nearly 100% reliable is gone. If we can't use this feature it removes a significant purchase reason for the product.

quotes, day gain/loss, . has been fouled up for weeks ... this actually may be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me..I have tolerated embarrassingly shoddy quality in Quicken for years and just didn't want the hassle of dealing with a switch - due to a complex set of investments ..but why should I stay with Quicken when the investment data is so bad and quality continues to decline

I also have problems with Downloading Historical Prices in Investing Center -- incorrect percentage gains/losses.
Today, in addition, "download quotes" is not working for any of my mutual funds.
This is the worst I have seen it (since 2006). I was about to upgrade to Quicken Premier 2009, but will hold off at least for now and forever if this is not fixed and reliable again.

My quote downloads were working fine until I upgraded to 2009. Now four out of 10 or so investments are downloading incorrect data for the prior five days. I can go back in and insert the correct values manually, but what a hassle that is. I've never had any problem until just the last couple of days since I upgraded. I would suggest no one should upgrade until this is fixed.

The bad quote and history problem has been around since Aug 21 or so. I think it is independent of the version of Quicken you are using: it is a server side issue.
They had it fixed for stocks today around 3:30 EST. By the time mutual funds price (5;40EST) it was broken again; giving mostly correct prices for today, but incorrect for prior days. That is what is leading to the crazy day gain/loss numbers.
I assume they took the servers off-line on purpose.
That is why we are getting the "No reponse" on an update.
I think it better to get no response than to get trash.

I do not believe the quote problem you are experiencing has anything to do with your upgrade, The timing of Quicken.com's problem and your upgrade are just sadly coincidental. I have not upgraded in 3 years and am getting the same problem you have. As are many others posting here.
They almost had it fixed today, but not quite.
Stick with your upgraded version for a bit more, They will get the quote and history issues fixed.

I only noticed the problem yesterday. Now that I look closer, price history downloads went bad beginning 21Aug, and some continued to be bad yesterday. Looks pretty much like random scatter. Some holdings are not effected at all, but a significant fraction are.
... this could negatively influence my decision as to whether to update to 2009 ...
B.T.W, I'm running Quicken 2006 Premier H&B. Guess I need to update my online profile. My old profile from quickenforum.com may have been moved here, but I no longer have access, since my email addr then is no longer available.

Please forgive me if I am repeating what has already been hashed over in this email thread but I am getting the strangest data for my securities via the download since upgrading to 2009. Some examples:
COH: Day Change% - (71.11%)
UMBIX: Day Change% - 349.91%
REREX: Day Change% - 36.37%
GHQTX: Day Change% - (34.47%)
NAMAX: Day Change% - (74.87%)
CREEX: Day Change% - (65.17%)
SMCEX: Day Change% - (99.62%)
FSCDX: Day Change% - (96.11%)
The above are all obviously grossly innacurate.
Additionally, the system has UNclassiffied over 46% of my assets. However, this did happen once before with Quicken 2007 last week.
Also, the $10K performance growth charts are...well, honestly, I don't even know how to describe them. They are pretty FUBAR'd.
Any idea when this will be fixed? Is this corrupting my data?

They had it fixed for equities today around 3:30EST, but by 5:40, it was broken again.
It is important to note that "One Step Update" is supposed to give you the latest prices. But, it also seems to update the prior 4-5 days history.
That is why the day gains have gone bonkers.
It is a waste of time to manually update prior day prices, as the next "One step update", if done within a few days, will overwrite them.
This is a big mess, and they will get it fixed.
In my 10 years, this is the worst, and lots of loyal users know about it.
If you can be patient, it will turn out allright.

I was very happy with my Quicken On-line Portfolio. I was switched to this new, beta Quicken Investing which does not work well at all. My portfolios are not being updated from my Quicken, Some of those stocks that are updated are coming back quibberish. There is essentially no correlation between my portfolio in Quicken and this online portfolio.
Currently the portfolio is not listing my individual stocks. This seems to come and go.
The bottom line is that I do not know how you could switch someone to this obviously incomplete and "not ready for prime time" program.
