Also - what happend to the TIME column? No Times show up - not even times that were prior to this "improvement????". This is in my Q2007 program portfolio - not the on-line version.
The on-line version is not even visible in any format which resembles the old format...and from what I have seen thus far, the on-line portfolio is no longer of any use to me. I need to be able to see all my portfolios AT ONCE and customize my columns.

Today when I downloaded quotes all seemed to be o.k. EXCEPT symbol SOL. The price should have been 18.59, but the price downloaded as 542.50! I then went back seveal days to see what the historical prices showed. On 8/14, Quicken price was 16.66 which was correct. On 8/15 Quicken price jumped to 513.94 and stayed at the higher levels until today at 542.50.
Also, I did sign in to Quicken.com, but still cannot access it. For instance, when I tried to view chart took super long time to come up and a finally gave up.Thanks in advance for the correction.

Did you create a new registration? I signed on with my existing user name & password and brought up my portfolio. But there is no current data (quotes). and I can only view one portfolio at a time insted of viewing multiple portfolios on the same page.

So I'll add my comments in this thread.
I did a One Step Update at 19:29 August 21, 2008. I got mixed, but very incomplete, results.
I got correct prices for securities owned at several of the investment fi's where I hold only mutual funds (and, have only mutual fund t ype accounts), Janus, Fidelity, Well Fargo are in this group.
I got no prices for any security owned at a "brokerage" ... where I own multiple types of securities. Smith Barney securities got no prices despite the fact that most of them are publicly traded stocks and mutual funds. USAA got no prices - and I have a couple of brokerage accounts there, plus some pure mutual fund accounts.
Every single stock, and every single mutual fund I own has publicly available prices ... ;prices that were normalliy downloaded in Quicken's previous "Quote Download" capability ... and prices I would assume would still be available via Quicken's "new" One Step Update (and Quote Download) process) ... but are not.
[I am not including my bond prices in this critique.]
How to ask a question.

I have been trying to download quotes for the last three hours to no avail. Having used Quicken since 1990, I am out of patience. Are there no lawyers on this board? I have come to rely on Quicken to manage all my finances and yet the fact is that it simply isn't reliable. Intuit should be held liable because this problem has been going on for months if not years and there is no solution in sight. Quotes do not download reliably. I must check them every day against Yahoo and manually update those quotes that are in error. What does Intuit do about those problems? We get an occasional response from Quicken Kathryn! Quite frankly, I would prefer a Quicken Solution. There are simply no more excuses. If Quicken cannot solve these ongoing problems once and for all, they should be liable for all the misery they are causing for the many users who have come to rely on this product. I've had it. I also condemn the computer periodicals than consistently give high ratings to Quicken. They are failing to do the in-depth research that would reveal these problems and review the product accordingly.

I have been able to view my on-line portfolio now and IT IS A SIGNIFICANT DOWNGRADE FROM WHAT WAS PREVIOUSLY AVAILABLE. The previous version allowed multiple portfolios on one page...no need to click back and forth through all you portfolios. The customize colume allowed for more columns (than 7) and there were more headings from which to choose. This "upgrade" thus far is a significant downgrade as far as I am concerned.
It was much better when you could have all your data available in one place. In an effort to improve the feature, you have made it more complicated and less informative from a simplicity standpoint.

I agree COMPLETELY with bbumbarger. I would like to be able to have my old portfolios back and scroll down the page to look at each stock. I will not be using Quicken.com anymore if it is kept this 'new, improved' way. Your server is also so slow with the downloads of each page now that it took several tries to even get the page to load.

All,
We have had to regretfully revert back to the older systems. I don't want to go into piles of details, but just know that we're working as fast as possible to resolve this issue.
Please be patient with us... I'm sure you'll appreciate the new system once we have it re-released.
Stay tuned...

Chris:
The new on-line portfolio features I was able to use last night before you reverted to the old on-line portfolio were not nearly as user friendly as the old on-line portfolio.
Examples:
1. Each portfolio was treated as a separate page and in order to view all your portfolios, you had to select each one separately instead of building a custom page that featured all your portfolios and watch lists. The new version requires more time and input from the user.
2. Customized columns did not feature nearly as many heading options and the new online portfolio only allows ONE customized page with a maximum of 7 headings. This also represents a significant downgrade.
3. One of the headings lost in customized columns is TIME. I used TIME to check to see if quotes were updated each day before I attempted to download quotes into my Q2007 program. If my customized on-line portfolio indicated a date/time which was not current, I did not attempt a download. This has been particularly useful recently while Intuit has experienced problems with quotes downloads. I was able to avoid the frustrations experienced by many users by waiting to download my quotes until the prices were updated. Again...less work and user input.
4. I used the new on-line portfolio to customize one of my portfolios and in addition to not being able to add all the headings (limit 7) I wanted to, I also noticed after logging off and logging back on that the default view is "performance" and I had to select my customized view each time I logged on or switched portfolios. The old system "remembers" your preferences and presents that page each time you log on.
There is probably more but that is "all" that I noticed in the brief time I was able to use the "Upgrade". I hope when you do change this, USERS WILL NOT LOSE ANYTHING WE HAD IN THE OLD PORTFOLIO. From what I could tell, at least for my needs, I lost more than I gained and the new version represented such a "DOWNGRADE" that I had already decided not to use the on-line portfolio anymore.

FYI -
Even while the new system was active, I was never able to successfully upload my account portfolios from the PC to Quicken.com (or more accurately, investing.quicken.com, I guess). Multiple attempts all failed with message: "The server is not responding correctly. Please try again later."
Although the new system seems to have some potential, I do think for it to be more useful user preference settings (i.e., which of the 4 categories - stocks, ETFs, Mutual Funds, Cash -- have been expanded and the last used 'select view' of each) should be retained automatically by the system from user session to user session. Having to manually reset those values every time is a pain. I'm using Firefox 3; don't know if the features maybe worked differently in Internet Explorer.
I would prefer to have the charting stuff collapsible and/or at least movable to the bottom of the page. For me, the value in having investment portfolios on quicken.com is as a quick check to see how individual investments are doing during the day or have done for the day. Charting the entire portfolio by different time periods and against different indexes is a longer term portfolio evaluation and analysis type tool and having that graphing at the top of the page gets in the way of the best uses of quicken.com -- IMHO. I do get the feeling/impression that in the new system the information available has been exploded all over the place with lots of distracting space in between the actual information nuggets; i..e. it's not concise, compact, and as easily accessible/usable as it was before.
Especially since securities are now categorized according to type, it would be helpful to add a 5th category called Bonds/CDs and have those security types included in the upload as well -- if for no other reason than to have the quicken.com total portfolio value more equal to the desktop total portfolio value.
Also, I have an investment in "CEF" (Central Fund of Canada, but traded on the AMEX) which I believe is regarded as an ETF. CEF in the new display was grouped in with the mutual funds rather than the ETFs.

Yesterday and today there has been a mistake made in the download of my Vanguard New York Tax-Exempt Money Market Fund (VYFXX) quote/price. It is posting the 7 day yield as if it were the quote/price. For example, the price of any mutual fund money market account is $ 1.00 and that should always show up as the quote/price per share. I am now showing $1.54 as the quote/price, but that is the 7 day average yield of this vanguard fund..1.54%.
Please get this fixed as my balance is being overstated.

There has been problems with Vanguard money market funds downloading into Quicken.
It is obvious that it is downloading the yield, rather than the $1 fixed price per share.
The workaround for this is to uncheck the money market fund from downloading the share price. This way, you will always have $1 per share as your quote.
Go to One Step Update. After entering your password, click on "Select Quicken.com data to update". Select "Quotes" and uncheck the money market fund(s). Then start the One Step Update process.
Quicken will no longer give you erroneous prices for those money market accounts, but you will continue to receive transactions downloaded from your financial institution that includes your money market accounts.

Was this update supposed to fix the incorrect asset classes applied to index funds? If so, then it is still broken. I am getting large "Other" asset class assignments.
Also, to extend gmalis1's post, you may wish to edit the price after an incorrect quote download. You do that in the profile view. You may need to add the "Quote/Price" column, but once you do, you can change the price right on that grid.
In Q2008, the procedure is in the help system under "Update security prices (get quotes)"

The current price or NAV for Fidelity Money Market Fund, symbol SPRXX, is showing as $2.45 on http://investing.quicken.com/portfolio/performance.asp. 2.45% is the 7 day yield for the fund so that is probably where the $2.45 is coming from.
The correct share price of $1.00 does appear to download via one step update, however. At least I got a $1.00 share price downloaded at 10:22 MDT 08/22/08.

I have to agree. I need to see all my holdings individually, on one page, just like the old site. New analytical features are great, but don't throw out the basics.
I'm probably going to change sites to something more "primitive".

I also agree with bbumbarger. Sadly, all users that have paid for working financial software have apparently been reduced to beta testers for this half-baked piece of crapware. Instead of foisting this on their paying customers, it should have been set up as a free trial download and just see how many users would quickly abandon it. While somewhat functional, it is inconvenient and features that were available have been dropped. Similar tinkering with online functionality by Microsoft on their online portfolio 2 years ago led to my switch from MS Money to Quicken. I have no objection to changes, but make the changes worthwhile and not just change for the sake of change.
