Hello All,

I’m happy to report that the migration to the new portfolio system is complete.  This new system applies to Quicken Windows 2006, 2007 and 2008.

If you want more information about this transition, or if you are experiencing any issues with the new portfolio, please post them in the thread here.  This will keep all of the issues in one place, which means we can gather and fix them a lot sooner--

Thanks--

Quicken Kathryn

Quicken Jim:

Thanks for your input. It is the first logical explanation form Intuit, I have heard on the matter. I appreciate your frankness.

However, you input does fall short in one area. As you can see among all the negative posts regarding the new upgrade, there seems to be a consensus of what old features are sorely missed.

I would appreciate your frank assessment of which of the “missing” features are doable with the new platform and which features are "LOST" for the foreseeable future.

The feature that I think is the leading critcal item is all portolios in one place, that is coming back, Ben said we are targeting end of Sep. Since the value of Quicken is a single look at all of your finances in once place, it's the most logical feature.

The other side of this move is the potential for new features, what would you like to see (don't say the old site 8-)) We are now in a position where we can add functionality, we couldn't on the old platform, it had remained virtually untouched for the past 7 years.

My portfolio is downloading the following quotes wrong:

PWE - Penn West Energy Trust
    PCG - PG&E
    ERF - Enerplus Trust

This is my small portfolio, I'm afraid of updating the larger one as I don't have time to fix all the price errors I was receiving.

Here are some of the symbols that I have that are confusing the little darling:

    AMZM
    AVB
    AVP
    BAC
    BUD
    CCL
    CBS A
    CX
    CNK
    CDL
    C
    CPRT
    EBAY
    F
    GD
    GE
    GM
    ING
    IBM
    JNJ

All of these give ungodly change, except for CBS A, that it can't find at all (I have tried it as just CBS, as well as CBS.A, still can't find it.)

    Quicken Jim:

I would like to see as many as possible of the customizable column headings available in the previous format. Also it would be nice to be able to create multiple (at least more than just one) customizable pages/views.

BTW, your willingness to join the discussions and provide meaningful feedback and an "ear" for solutions is appreciated. I hope this is the beginning of a new trend on Intuit's part. It will always serve you well to "keep a finger on the pulse of your customers" so don’t be a stranger.

I attended an Intuit conference this spring (for their onlne banking subsidiary) and every session focused on "Design for Delight" and the customer experience. I spent three days being told that Intuit listened carefully to its customers, even following them home to see how they interact with the products.

Clearly, there is a huge disconnect between what they say and what they do. This "upgrade" is a prime example of a pain point in the customer experience.

    Let's run through it...

The first indicator anything was changing was a screen message saying that an upgrade was underway and would be completed the week of August 18. No indication of what was changing. No link to more info.

Then they rolled out something that apparently no one wants. The one feature everyone is missing is the multiple portfolio view on one page. How could Intuit NOT have known this was the most important feature? Who did they ask about functionality before wiping out the most important feature?

Whoever was the project manager for this rollout should probably ask the Intuit management team to tell you about how to "Design for Delight."

I was able to duplicate the incorrect quotes. Interestingly enough sometimes they did download incorrectly and another time they downloaded correctly. Working with engineers to understand this.

You might try to delete and download again. I found that sometimes the were incorrect while other times they were correct.

    Update to come.

The securities that I have that are wrong for the past four days are:
    PNC;
    MATK
    GE
    FCEL
    CEG
    PBI
    PRRXX
    PRSGX
    TMDXX
    MDXBX
It appears todays quotations are correct. I deleted the previous four days data for all of these securities.

Here are some more ticker symbols with incorrect price quote history:

VHCOX, VDIGX, VEMAX, VHEGX, VQNPX, VIGRX, VGHAX, VEIEX, VGHCX, VINEX.

Congratulations, although not 100% of my portfolio, you managed to screw up at least 90% of it.

Another fine job by Quicken and their "ace" programmers.

    Pathetic!

Until Quicken can assure me that it has RELIABLE downloading of quotes, I am sick and tired of editing my price history every day weeding out bad historical prices.

I am back to downloading quotes via NetStock and importing them into Quicken.

This is what we pay Quicken for?  I have to use an outside price quote source?

    Ridiculous, isnt' it?

This message relates to Quicken H&B 2009. The portfolio downloads are way out of line, there is something wrong with the calculations!! Today, see attachment, the DJ increase +11.312 and look at AT&T, Verizon, and consolidated energy. Don't I wish they would climb like that. The quotes are transfering correctly, but the calculations are way out in left field. How could a program get by beta with that kind of error. MS Money isn't even going to issue and update this year so why hurry, get IT RIGHT!

    Dale:

Here is my list of bad historical quotes and some things I have discovered.

The following securities give bad downloaded historical quotes for all dates from August 21 onwards. Interestingly, they seem to give the correct quotes for the current day (until tomorrow). DWSN, BNI, ENER, BHP, MTR, D, HURC, JLL, AMX, AAPL, KO, AMSC, GSH, VTIV, MGT, MO, BLU, KNOL, HXL, ESLR, UYG, GW, DOW, KMP and the indexes COMPX and INX. Some of the securities which are not corrupted are X, PCL, UN, HSC, PCU and there are others. Yesterday, the list of corrupted securities included many mutual funds, such as DODGX, GFAFX but I note that as of 6 pm EDT today, mutual funds have not been updated. Usually, those updates are ready by 6 pm.

I ran an experiment with BLU, which had corrupted historical quotes. I deleted the bad quotes of Aug-21 through Aug-27 and then ran a Historical Quote - just on BLU, but not on any other securities. The Aug-21 etc. quote came back ok. I then deleted them again and ran a Historical Quote download on ALL securities. This time, BLU got corrupted again.

Yesterday, I deleted bad historical quotes from many other securities and corrected them by doing single downloads. They all went bad again today.

Hope this data helps you arrive at a quick solution...

I threw in the towel and started importing stock and mutual fund prices via NetStock into Quicken.

Until I can get assurances from Quicken that this latest debacle is over, I have no use for deleting bad historical prices.  It expends too much energy, not to mention the rise in blood pressure as I learn to hate Intuit more and more.

Eventually, the Q engineers are going to figure out the the server's index files keep corrupting themselves. Why else would the quotes sometimes be right and sometimes be wrong. There appear to b problems with the symbols being indexed to the right exchanges. Try DPS

Jim, I would like to see back, the ability to sort the columns. It was quite a while ago, but that feature was there, then it was taken away. Would be great to get back as we can compare how well our mutual funds or stocks are performing in the portfolio compared to one another. When can we have the update feature fixed?

    Thanks,

    version 2009.

What do you mean "limited" problem. I have about 50 stocks and at least 40 have completely screwed up historical prices for the last few days since I upgraded to 1009 today. And each time I do an update price download they all change for all of the historical prices. I then went in and deleted and they all come back. WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED - or should I just call and get a refund on the product?

Is true. Yes you can delete multiple entries for a stock - but you have to do for each stock one at a time or the whole file. And if you do whole file then you lose your bond historical prices, which do not get automatically rebuilt. A waste of time anyway as the next time you do a download all of the bogus historical prices come back anyway!

I think the whole quote server process is corrupt. It seems to me that a change of this magnitude should be tested, tested, tested, tested and tested before going live with customers financial records and ruining them. Does Intuit know what a beta tester is?

I am absolutely sick and tired of the problems Intuit has had this past year. I spend more time doing functions by hand than using the program as it was intended. I can probably write it down on a legal pad and use a calculator in about the same amount of time.

This used to be a good product but now it is the worst piece of software I have ever seen. I have been using this program since 1994 but I am about to the end.

I think it is time for another new CEO. It has gotten worse since Brad took over. I wonder if Brad even knows what is going on.

Hello All, Im happy to report that the migration to the new portfolio system is complete.  This new system applies to Quicken Windows 2006, 2007 and 2008.   If you want more information about this transition, or if you are experiencing any issues with the new portfolio, please post them in the thread here.  This will keep all of the issues in one place, which means we can gather and fix them a lot sooner--   Thanks--
I hope it isn't complete. It still doesn't work for me and I was told it would be the middle of Sept. before it wwould be corrected and finished. What is the truth?
