have been using Quicken home and business for years along with Pocket Quicken to sync my transactions when I am out. I have switched to the Motorola Droid and it is the one application I really miss. Please develop a way for me to sync with my regular quicken. I don't care if it is indirect via online quicken and then downloaded to my pc or if it is via direct sync.
Add me to the list of those wanting a Quicken for the Android system. I am a longtime user of Quicken and also Pocket Quicken. It is the one application I miss the most on my Droid phone.
I also agree with an earlier poster. It would probably be a good idea to send these requests to Landware, the developer of Pocket Quicken.
Please add my vote to this list. While overall, the iPhone remains the best seller, don't lose sight of the fact that there are MANY Android phones (with many more coming).
Cumulatively, as a platform, it's a safe bet that Android will soon surpass Apple's mobile OS market share, and become the most widely used smartphone platform.
I'm in too (MotoDroid). Better yet-- why can't I get past the "please wait" splash screen at the regular quicken online site after I login? I can view normal desktop sites beautifully on my Droid. I'm pretty sure my Droid plays flash, so what is the deal with that splash screen?? :)
I want to add myself to the growing list of Quicken users who desperately want an Android app that unltimately syncs with desktop Quicken; either via online or directly to the desktop.
For those who noted that Landware would most likely create an Android APP . . . Landware posted on 3/1 that Intuit terminated their relationship and right to develop or distribute applications for Quicken.
Intuit may have something on the horizon, but it looks like the mobiles apps will go away at least in the interim. (on all platforms)
The faster the better, I want it before I upgrade from Treo to android. I am a very lokngterm Quicken user and I'd hate to leave Quicken but will if they don't go with a mobile Synch like pocket quicken soon!!!
Add me to the list. I am stuck with my old blackjack til I find an application to suit my needs. And trust me, if you don't get one out soon you will lose alot of customers. I am betting the first app that suits the needs will draw ALOT of customers. And if it isn't quicken you lose on the desktop side as well as we run to the new application.
Intuit pulled the plug from Landware.
From the Landware website:
Intuit has decided to change its handheld and smartphone strategy and as a result has terminated its Pocket Quicken licensing agreement with LandWare.
Regrettably LandWare is no longer able to develop, distribute or support Pocket Quicken as of March 1, 2010. We wish to thank all of our wonderful customers who have supported our product over the last 11 years.
We are proud that with your help we were able to build the longest running, most popular and award winning version of Pocket Quicken to date. Although we would have loved to have seen our product vision carry over to the iPhone and Android platforms it was just not possible in this case.
If you would like to contact Intuit regarding this matter, they have told us to refer customers to their Customer Feedback Form.
If you need technical support for your existing copy of Pocket Quicken please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
I've used pocketquicken since forever ago. It's a wonderful little app. One of the reasons I still use PalmOS (even thought it and Palm are pretty much dead), is because of pocketquicken.
Unfortunately, I'm still married to Quicken because there is no other application that provides the banking integration it does. But the pain is becoming so great, that I may just go back to using a paper check register just to get Intuit and all it's rip off products out of my life for good.
But I could not wait for them to make up their minds. I went out and bought a Droid. If Intuit catches up fine. If not then I'll be doing a lot more entry on the old keyboard.
The Landware team has done a great job over the years. By getting a Droid I am hoping to get rid of my Sony Clie NC70. Which compared to the Incredible is a cement block in weight. I have already started to use app called aCar for my car expenses so that is one thing I am no longer tacking in Quicken. If they do not catch up then someone else may make an app to simply replace Quicken. I just sayin'
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ANDROID APP FOR QUICKEN. SOMETHING THAT COULD SYNC WITH DESKTOP OR JUST OPEN A DOWNLOADED QIF FILE. PLEASE SOMEONE WAKE AND START MAKING THIS APP.
My bank announced this week that they now had an App for the iPhone. I emailed back and asked about one for the Andriod. Reply came back to me in less then 6 hours that they will have one by end of September.
Are you telling me that that a small independent bank with about 40 branches total can develop an Android App faster then Intuit with its resources?
I know that the Google platform does not have a WYSIWUG interface like Apple that teenagers can develop apps with. But come on Intuit, you have a ready market willing to buy.
Maybe they are just more interested in making Mortgage Loans? Have been seeing a lot of their commercials on TV lately????? I'm just sayen'.
